About Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Plastering:

The Level 3 Diploma in Plastering is an advanced certification that positions you to supervise operations on the construction site. This qualification is typically intended for those who have completed a Level 2 Diploma in Plastering or who have equivalent experience in the industry. Moreover, Level 3 NVQ Qualification is a mandatory requirement you need to fulfil in order to apply for the CSCS Gold Card. With this certification and a relevant CITB test, you qualify for the CSCS Gold Card. 

The Construction Industry Training Body (CITB) endorses this qualification that not only gets you national recognition but also helps in increasing your job opportunities in the UK. To obtain this qualification, you must be working as a plasterer in order to fulfil the requirement of providing evidence of your work.

The Level 3 Diploma in Plastering helps you in gaining a comprehensive understanding of how solid and fibrous plasters are applied. It provides advanced knowledge and practical experience in applying solid plaster to surfaces using traditional and modern techniques. Furthermore, the course content focuses on the use of fibrous plaster in decorative mouldings and ornate features. Also, you'll learn how to create intricate and detailed designs using specialised tools. 

There are two pathways to choose from i.e. solid plastering and fibrous plastering. If you go down the solid plastering route, you'll have to complete six mandatory and one optional unit. On the other hand, the fibrous plastering pathway requires you to complete nine mandatory units

 

What are Different Pathways You Can Opt for?

Under this qualification, there comes two pathways that you can select from. This distribution is on the basis of the specialisation you intend to pursue. The pathways are as follows: 

Pathway 1 – Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Plastering (Solid)

Pathway 2 – Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Plastering (Fibrous)

In each of these routes, there are mandatory units that you must pass. Then, there are optional units that you select from the list. 


Assessment:

Once you enrol, a qualified assessor will work with you to create a personalised assessment plan. The assessor will communicate with you to meet any learning gaps following an initial assessment which will help in designing individualised plans that conform to your needs. 

Depending on your schedule and personal preferences, there are different assessment methods that could be used as evidence including observation such as:

  • Reports

  • Assignments

  • Case studies

  • Projects

  • witness testimony

  • Worksheets

  • Oral or written questioning

  • Recognition of prior learning
