Level 4 Award IQA Course Entry Requirements

The entry requirements for the Level 4 Award in the Internal Quality Assurance (Units 1-2) include:

    Age and Suitability

This qualification is suitable for learners aged 19 and above. It is designed for individuals in internal quality assurance roles within vocational or educational settings.

    Access to Assessors

Learners must work with two assessors, both of whom must have access to at least two learners each.

You do not need an assessing qualification beforehand, but you must have access to two assessors to complete the practical part of the course. This allows the application of theoretical knowledge to practical assessment situations under supervision.

    Observation by an Expert Witness

An expert witness must also observe you. This expert witness is a qualified IQA within an organisation who will verify that your work was conducted correctly.

    Course Duration & Assessment

While the average completion time for candidates is 2-3 months, you’re allowed up to 12 months to finish the course, ensuring you have all the time you need. During this period, the course is assessed through written and practical assignments you complete and upload for grading on our online portal.

Unit 1 is assessed with written assignments.

Unit 2 requires uploading evidence of quality assurance, including plans, assessment records, and feedback. You must have two assessors to quality-assure the assessment decisions they make about their learners.

What are the other IQA & Assessor Qualifications?

IQA Award Unit 1: The 1-unit IQA course offers theoretical knowledge on internal quality assurance without practical qualification.

Lead IQA Certificate Unit 1, 2 & 3: The Level 4 Certificate in Leading Internal Quality Assurance is the most advanced course within the TAQA qualification suite and covers all three units of an IQA course.

Level 3 Assessor Award (UPPA) Unit 1: This unit focuses on knowledge and is excellent for current assessors who want to improve their skills. It teaches the background knowledge and importance of assessment practices.

Level 3 Assessor Award (AVRA) Unit 1 & 2: This qualification allows you to assess students in a training setting, like a workshop or classroom, but not in their workplace.

Level 3 Assessor Award (ACWE) Unit 1 & 2: This qualification lets you assess students at their workplace rather than in a classroom. Like the Vocationally Related Achievement award, you will determine the skills of two learners.
