Isle of Wight Test Centre CSCS Test Overview

The CSCS Test in Isle of Wight Test Centre can be completed at a time and date that suits you. When you arrive to take the test you will need to bring a valid form of ID. Preferably a UK driving license with a photo and signature or a UK passport with the same. If you are unable to provide either you will need to provide 2 alternative forms of ID.

1.      Complete the relevant CSCS qualification for the card you are applying for. Currently, Hurak only offers the Level 1 Health and safety in a construction environment course for the green card.

2.      Book and pass your CSCS Test

3.      Apply for your chosen CSCS Card

What happens if I fail the test?

If you are not successful the first time around, don’t worry; we can book you another test once 24 hours have passed. You cannot sit another test within 48 hours of your initial test time. You can however take the test as many times as you need to but will have to pay each time.

The Operatives Test

The operatives test is the most basic level test; it provides rudimentary knowledge and awareness of Health, safety, and the environment. The test covers the 5 fundamental core knowledge areas namely

  • Legal and Management
  • Health and Welfare
  • General Safety
  • High-Risk Activities
  • Environment

 

The passing score for this test is 90% (45/50). The Operatives Test unlocks the following CSCS Cards.

 

 

The Specialist Test

This test is relatively more challenging and focuses on the five core knowledge areas as well as your chosen specialist areas. The passing score for the Specialist Test is 90% (45/50).  The Specialists Test unlocks the following CSCS Cards.

 

Skilled Workers Blue Card
  • Red Card (Experienced workers, trainees, and Apprentices)
  • Gold Card (Supervisors)
The Managers or Professionals Test

The Managers or Professionals Test is the highest level of CTIB test and it includes questions on the five core knowledge areas along with the following specialist topics

  • Construction Regulations
  • Demolition
  • Highway Works

 

The passing score of the Managers or Professional Test is 92% (46/50). This Test unlocks the following CSCS Cards.

    • CSBS Black Card (Managerial)
    • Red Card (Technical, Supervisory, or Managerial)
    • White Card (Academic or Professional)

Yes, you can retake the HS&E test as many times as you need to. We can book you another test once 24 hours have passed, however, do note you cannot sit another test within 48 hours of your initial test time.

No, CITB is not the same as CSCS. CITB stands for the Construction Industry Training Board. CSCS stands for Construction Skills Certification Scheme, which is a card scheme that helps employers to identify workers who have the necessary skills and qualifications to work safely on construction sites. Under this scheme, the delegates are issued with the various CSCS cards that are their identification proof for their proficiency and competency in the work.
