Yes. To attend the SIA Security Guard Top-Up Refresher course in Glasgow, you must hold a valid Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) certificate. If you don’t have one, our combined package allows you to complete both the first aid and refresher training on the same day.
If your SIA Security Guard licence is expiring within the next 4 months or has expired within the last 3 years, you must complete the Top-Up Refresher course. If it expired more than 3 years ago, the SIA requires you to take the full Security Guard course again.
You’ll need to bring one valid photo ID (such as a UK driving licence or passport) and two separate proof of address documents. If you’ve already completed your first aid training, bring your valid certificate—it must remain valid for at least 12 months from the course date.
