The online Level 2 Spectator Safety course provides foundational knowledge for new and developing stewards, covering topics such as communication, customer service, monitoring spectators, and supporting evacuations. Study at your own pace with short lessons and knowledge checks in a mobile-friendly LMS.
On completion, you receive an e-certificate (non-NVQ) for CPD and pre-employment learning. Many providers will accept this online course as the distance learning/theory component of the NVQ Level 2 route.
Choose this course if you’re starting in stewarding and want core knowledge you can study at your own pace. It’s a good fit for frontline event roles, such as stands and concourses, entry control, wayfinding, and guest services, and provides a solid theoretical base that you can build on in the workplace or progress to NVQ.
Gain the core theory to work safely and professionally at live events. Study at your pace with short lessons and knowledge checks.
You’ll complete the exam online in the LMS. It consists of 40 multiple-choice questions, with a pass mark of 28 correct answers (70%) and a duration of 1 hour. You can retake the assessment as many times as you like.
On passing the assessment, you’ll receive an instant e-certificate in the LMS. This certificate is suitable for CPD and pre-employment evidence but is not a regulated NVQ. It can also count as the theory component before you progress to the NVQ Level 2 Spectator Safety route.
You must be 16 years or older and have a basic level of spoken/written English.
After completing the online Level 2 Spectator Safety course, the natural next step is the NVQ Level 2 Spectator Safety (regulated), where this course can contribute to the distance-learning element. With experience, progress to Level 3 Supervision and Level 4 Management. Add Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) to boost employability; some roles may also require an SIA Door Supervisor licence.
