Yes — the SIA requires a valid Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) certificate before attending the Top-Up Refresher course. If you don’t have one, you can book a combined package with us that includes both the First Aid and Refresher training.
This course is required if your Security Guard licence is expiring within the next 4 months or has expired within the past 3 years. If it expired more than 3 years ago, the SIA will require you to complete the full Security Guard course again.
You must bring a valid form of ID (either a passport or UK driving licence) along with two separate proof of address documents. If you’ve already completed Emergency First Aid training, bring your certificate — it must be valid for at least 12 months from the course date.
No — this course must be completed in person. The SIA requires face-to-face attendance due to the practical elements and formal assessments involved.
The course takes place at a central Belfast venue with convenient public transport access. Full address details and joining instructions will be provided after you book.
