What Is the Level 3 Award in Delivering Conflict Management Training?

The Level 3 Award in Delivering Conflict Management Training is a nationally recognised qualification that enables you to teach conflict management skills to others. It’s designed for trainers, security professionals, and team leaders who want to deliver accredited conflict resolution training in sectors such as security, retail, healthcare, hospitality, and customer service.

By completing this award, you’ll meet the required standard to deliver Level 2 Conflict Management qualifications — including those needed for SIA licence-linked courses. Whether you’re looking to become a freelance trainer or add to your existing training portfolio, this qualification is a valuable step forward.

Who Is This Qualification For?

This qualification is ideal for individuals who want to become certified conflict management trainers. It's particularly useful for anyone delivering training in environments where managing conflict is part of daily operations, including security, healthcare, education, and customer service roles.

Typical candidates include:

  • Those who want to deliver SIA licence-linked courses
  • Freelance or in-house trainers
  • Security professionals and SIA licence holders
  • Supervisors and team leaders in customer-facing roles
  • Trainers working in care homes, the NHS, or education settings
  • Those delivering training for private companies or awarding bodies

If you already hold a recognised teaching qualification (like the Level 3 Award in Education and Training), this course allows you to expand your training portfolio and deliver accredited conflict management training in a range of sectors.

Entry Requirements for the Conflict Management Trainer Course

To enrol on the Level 3 Award in Delivering Conflict Management Training, you must already hold a recognised teaching qualification. The most common one is the Level 3 Award in Education and Training (AET), or an equivalent such as PTLLS.

If you don’t have a teaching qualification yet, you can take both the AET and this course as a combined package. Many learners choose this route to become fully qualified trainers.

You should also have good verbal and written communication skills, as you’ll be assessed on your ability to deliver engaging training sessions.

How Is the Course Assessed?

The Level 3 Award in Delivering Conflict Management Training is split into two units. Each unit has a different assessment method to test both your theoretical knowledge and practical training ability.

Unit 1: Managing Conflict in the Workplace When Dealing with Customers, Service Users or the Public

This unit is assessed through a multiple-choice exam. You’ll be given 1 hour to answer 30 questions and must score at least 20 correct answers to pass.

The exam can be taken:

  • At one of our training locations (included in the course price)
  • Online remotely via proctored exam — available for an additional £65

Unit 2: Delivering Scenario-Based Conflict Management Training

This unit is assessed through an online, self-paced portfolio. You’ll complete all tasks through our Learning Management System (LMS).

The portfolio includes the following assessments:

  • A knowledge and understanding worksheet
  • Two session plans
  • Two scenario briefs
  • A justification form explaining the design of your session plans and scenarios
  • A micro-teach (short recorded training delivery)
  • A self-evaluation

You can complete all of Unit 2 online at your own pace with complete tutor guidance.

How Long Does It Take to Complete the Course?

There’s no fixed timeframe; how long it takes to complete the course entirely depends on you. We’ve had learners finish everything in as little as 1 to 2 weeks, but the pace is entirely up to how much time you can commit.

You’ll start with Unit 2, which is completed online and self-paced through our Learning Management System (LMS). Once you’ve submitted all required tasks, you’ll be invited to take the multiple-choice exam for Unit 1. The MCQ assessment can be taken at one of our training centres or online, remotely, for an additional fee of £65.

You’ll have up to 12 months from your enrolment date to complete the qualification, giving you full flexibility to fit it around your schedule.
