This package includes three Level 3 qualifications:
- Level 3 Award in Education and Training (AET) – the foundation for teaching. You will learn how to plan sessions, deliver structured lessons, support different learner needs, and assess work fairly.
- Level 3 Delivering Conflict Management – focuses on how to teach communication, de-escalation, and scenario-based conflict training in a controlled, professional way. This qualification is required to deliver the Conflict Management unit found within the SIA Door Supervisor course and the SIA Security Guarding course.

Entry Requirements for the SIA Instructor Course
To enrol on the SIA Trainer Course Package, you must have at least two years of frontline security experience within the last five years. This helps ensure you can relate the training to real workplace situations and deliver sessions with the right level of credibility and confidence.

Course Structure and Duration
The SIA Trainer Course Package is made up of three Level 3 qualifications. All three are delivered in a flexible format, with most learning completed online at your own pace, plus practical micro-teaching and (for physical intervention) a classroom attendance element.
Level 3 Award in Education and Training (AET) (self-paced)
This qualification is completed fully self-paced online, allowing you to study around work and other commitments. You will complete written, essay-style tasks and create practical training documents, such as a session plan and scheme of work. You will also deliver a 15-minute micro-teach and observe three micro-teaches delivered by other learners.
Level 3 Delivering Conflict Management (self-paced + micro-teach + exam)
The Conflict Management course is also online and self-paced. You will complete a knowledge and understanding worksheet, produce delivery documents such as session plans and scenario briefs, and take part in a conflict management micro-teach. You will then sit an MCQ exam, which can be completed either:
- At our London training centre, or
- From home for £65, using remote invigilation arranged by the awarding body
Level 3 Delivering Physical Intervention (self-paced + classroom)
The Physical Intervention course is mostly online and self-paced, but it includes a classroom practical element. The length of the classroom attendance depends on whether you are exempt from Unit 1.
- You are usually exempt if you hold the Door Supervisor qualification obtained after 2021 or if you have completed the Top-Up Door Supervisor qualification (introduced between 2021 and 2024).
- If exempt, the classroom attendance is typically 1 day.
- If not exempt, the classroom attendance is typically 3 to 4 days.
📌This structure gives you flexibility for the theory components while still ensuring you complete the practical coaching and assessed delivery required for conflict management and physical intervention.
Assessment and How You Will Be Assessed
Assessment is completed across all three qualifications through a mix of written work and practical delivery.
- Level 3 AET: written tasks, training documents (including session planning), 15-minute micro-teach, and observation of three micro-teaches
- Conflict Management: knowledge worksheet, delivery documents (session plans and scenario briefs), conflict management micro-teach, plus an MCQ exam (centre-based or remotely invigilated for £65)
- Physical Intervention: online tasks plus in-person practical assessment during the classroom attendance days (1 day if exempt from Unit 1, or 3–4 days if not)

How Long Does It Take to Complete the SIA Trainer Course?
Because the SIA Instructor Package is mainly self-paced, the time it takes to complete will depend on how much time you can commit each week. Some learners move through quickly by submitting work regularly, while others prefer to spread the learning around work and other commitments.
Once you upload your work to the LMS, your assessor will normally provide feedback within 3–5 working days. In general, the more consistently you submit work, the faster you can progress and complete the package.
As a guide, most learners complete each part in the following timeframes:
- Level 3 Award in Education and Training (AET): around 2–3 weeks
- Level 3 Delivering Conflict Management: around 2 weeks
