Who Is This Qualification For?

The Level 7 NVQ Diploma in Strategic Health and Safety Leadership and Management is intended for top-tier management in strategic planning for health and safety policies within an organisation. It's a perfect fit for those already in a similar role, as it provides national recognition for their expertise and offers a pathway towards obtaining the CSCS Black Card (construction candidates only). This qualification can also lead you to the IOSH membership.

To enrol on this qualification, you need to be currently holding a managerial position where you're responsible for developing and implementing health and safety policies. This experience will enable you to create a portfolio of evidence for assessment purposes. Throughout the course, your performance will be evaluated based on your ability to achieve the learning outcomes of each of the five mandatory units. These units are specifically designed to train you in areas such as managing safety systems, incorporating digital technologies, conducting incident investigations, adopting a strategic managerial approach, and implementing risk management processes.

Can You Utilise Pre-Formulated Documents For This Qualification?

You don't need to go through the hassle of recreating those documents to prove your expertise to the assessor. You can simply submit the files you already have, and they will be accepted and reviewed. We understand that you may have put in considerable effort to compile relevant materials, so we value your existing documents and will take them into consideration during the assessment process.

How Will Industry Accreditation (IA) Affect Senior Employees?

Some people might not see it as absolutely necessary to take this qualification if they're already in senior management positions at companies. However, Industry Accreditation, which CSCS previously relied on to issue their cards, will expire on December 31, 2024. As a result, individuals who hold a CSCS Black Card without having passed a relevant NVQ will be affected by this update. If you're considering a career in this field and want to maintain your CSCS card for the foreseeable future, now is the perfect time to pursue this qualification. It will ensure that you meet the necessary requirements to retain your CSCS card.

Note: Industry Accreditation could previously get you a CSCS card on the strength of employer’s recommendation.
