The CCNSG Renewal course is a one-day refresher for people with a valid CCNSG Safety Passport. You can take this course up to three months before your card expires. If your card has expired, you must take the full CCNSG National course again to stay certified.
The renewal course is offered by accredited trainers at various locations nationwide. It reviews the key safety information from the original National course and includes updates on new safety laws and regulations.

To attend this course, you must have a valid CCNSG Safety Passport. Bring it with you and show it to the trainer when you arrive. You can renew your Safety Passport up to three months before it expires.
Bring your National Insurance number and a UK photo card, driving license or travel passport as ID. If you have a different type of photo ID, it must be approved before the course. If you don’t bring the required ID, you won’t be allowed to take the course, but you will still be charged the full fee.

Learners will learn the proper procedures for safely entering and exiting work areas. This includes understanding the importance of clear access routes, maintaining orderly exits, and ensuring that emergency exits are accessible and well-marked.
Learners will learn how to respond to accidents, including immediate actions to take, administering basic first aid, and reporting incidents. They will also learn about first aid kits, emergency contacts, and procedures for seeking further medical help.
Learners will be educated on fire safety measures, including preventing fires, using fire extinguishers, and responding to a fire emergency. They will also learn about fire drills, evacuation plans, and the importance of fire safety equipment.
Learners will understand COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) regulations and how to handle hazardous substances safely. They will also learn about the types of personal protective equipment (PPE) required, how to select and use PPE effectively, and how to maintain and store it properly.
Learners will learn the correct techniques for lifting, carrying, and moving objects to avoid injury. This includes understanding body mechanics, proper lifting methods, and how to use equipment or ask for help when handling heavy or awkward loads.
