CITB Temporary Works Course Overview

A temporary works course is a training program for people in the construction industry. It teaches them the knowledge and skills to understand, plan, and manage temporary work safely and effectively. CITB offers these courses, which include topics related to temporary works. Temporary Works include scaffolding, shoring and formwork, temporary bridges and platforms.

Temporary works can be complex on small or large sites, so understanding safety and risk management is important for all projects. This course will explain the Temporary Works Supervisor’s role and the processes of safely conducting temporary works.

Temporary Works Coordinator Vs Supervisor

A Temporary Works Coordinator coordinates and manages temporary structures. In contrast, a Temporary Works Supervisor is tasked with the hands-on supervision of these structures and their assembly.

Temporary works are temporary structures or systems that help support the construction, maintenance, or use of a permanent building. They provide stability and safety during construction, making it possible to build the final structure as intended. Temporary works are important for construction projects and require careful planning and engineering.
