What is Abrasive Wheel Training

This Abrasive Wheels training course teaches you the knowledge and skills to safely fit abrasive wheels according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Abrasive wheels are tools such as wheels, discs, cones, or cups for grinding, shaping, or cutting materials. It covers the rules and regulations you need to follow for safe work practices.

Employees who use abrasive wheels must know how to mount them safely. The course typically covers legal responsibilities, hazards and risks associated with abrasive wheels, different types and uses of wheels and cutting discs, and how to select, test, mount, and store them properly. The Abrasive Wheels course can be taken online through classroom sessions or remote e-learning.

Does the Course Follows Abrasive Wheel Regulations

The course complies with the national regulations related to abrasive wheel training. The Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations Act 1998 (PUWER) regulates the use of abrasive wheels in Scotland, England, and Wales. These rules replaced the 1992 PUWER regulations, which were set up to replace the Abrasive Wheels Regulations from 1970. The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) oversees and enforces PUWER.
