Temporary Works Coordinator Course Overview

A Temporary Works Coordinator in the construction industry oversees and manages temporary structures and systems. A temporary works coordinator course (TWCTC) teaches learners the knowledge and skills to understand, plan, and manage temporary work safely and effectively.

Temporary works can be complex on small or large sites, so understanding safety and risk management is important for on site coordinators. This course will explain the Temporary Works Coordinator's role and the processes of safely conducting temporary works. Those looking to progress in their careers from the coordinator role must take the CITB Temporary Works Supervisor Training Course.

Temporary Works Coordinator vs Supervisor

A Temporary Works Coordinator coordinates and manages temporary structures. In contrast, a Temporary Works Supervisor is tasked with the hands-on supervision of these structures and their assembly.

Temporary works are temporary structures or systems that help support the construction, maintenance, or use of a permanent building. They provide stability and safety during construction, making it possible to build the final structure as intended. Temporary works are important for construction projects and require careful planning and engineering.
