The First Aid at Work (FAW) Refresher, also known as the FAW Requalification, is a 2-day training course for individuals whose FAW certification is nearing expiry. By attending the First Aid at Work Refresher Course in Weymouth, you can extend your Level 3 FAW qualification for an additional three years.
Unlike the full three-day course, this refresher is designed to update your knowledge and provide hands-on practice of vital skills, all under the guidance of a qualified assessor. This course ensures you remain compliant with Health and Safety Executive (HSE) regulations.
This 2-day First Aid at Work Refresher course is available exclusively to individuals who currently hold a valid FAW certificate. It is important to book your place before your certificate expires to avoid needing to complete the full three-day First Aid at Work course.
A 28-day grace period is provided after your certificate expires. However, if the certificate has been expired for more than 28 days, you will need to retake the full FAW course.
For entry to the course, you must present your valid or recently expired FAW certificate on the first day of training.
During the FAW Requalification in Weymouth, you’ll revisit the entire First Aid at Work syllabus, ensuring that your skills and knowledge remain up to date. Over the course of two days, you will practice essential first aid skills that every workplace first aider must be confident in applying.
The First Aid at Work Refresher in Weymouth is assessed through a combination of practical demonstrations, trainer observations, and a brief multiple-choice test. This ensures that you can competently apply the skills learned during the course in real-life situations.
Upon successful completion, you will be awarded a renewed Level 3 First Aid at Work certificate, valid for another three years and fully recognised by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).
Many people confuse the annual refresher with the First Aid at Work Requalification. The annual refresher is a brief course designed to help you practice your skills annually. While it is beneficial, it does not renew your certificate.
If your certificate is nearing expiry, you will need to complete the 2-day FAW Refresher (Requalification) course. This is the only course that formally renews your First Aid at Work qualification for another three years.
This 2-day FAW Refresher is intended for designated first aiders working in medium- to high-risk environments, such as construction sites, factories, warehouses, and large office buildings. The course is specifically for individuals looking to update their qualifications and stay compliant with HSE standards.
If multiple staff members at your workplace need to renew their FAW qualification, arranging an on-site training session may be more convenient. A certified trainer can deliver the full 2-day requalification course at your location, enabling your team to refresh their skills together.
On-site training offers several advantages:
The Weymouth training venue is conveniently located in the town centre, ensuring easy access for individuals looking to complete the 2-day FAW course with minimal disruption. The venue is well-connected by public transport, with nearby bus and train routes. For those travelling by car, parking facilities are available.
Learners come from not just Weymouth, but also surrounding areas like Portland, Dorchester, Chickerell, and Upwey. Many businesses in these areas opt for the Weymouth venue, as it is easily accessible and centrally located.
