In-house training: Host the course at your workplace for a group of employees.
The First Aid at Work Refresher, also known as the FAW Requalification, is a 2-day course for those whose FAW certification is approaching expiry. By completing the First Aid at Work Refresher course, you will renew your Level 3 FAW qualification for another three years.
This refresher course focuses on updating and reinforcing essential first-aid skills for the workplace. It allows you to refresh your knowledge, ensuring you're confident in applying the skills under supervision, while remaining fully compliant with Health and Safety Executive (HSE) regulations.
The 2-day First Aid at Work renewal course is exclusively for individuals who already hold a valid FAW certificate. To ensure you do not need to retake the full three-day First Aid at Work course, it's essential to book your place before your certificate expires.
You have a 28-day grace period after your certificate expires. If your certificate has expired beyond this period, you will be required to complete the full FAW course again.
Please note that you will need to bring proof of your valid or recently expired FAW certificate on the first day of the course.
The FAW Requalification course ensures your knowledge of first aid at work is up-to-date and keeps your certification valid for another three years. Throughout this 2-day course, you will refresh and practice crucial skills needed by every workplace first aider.
The assessment for the First Aid at Work Refresher course involves a combination of practical demonstrations, trainer observations, and a brief multiple-choice test. These assessments ensure you can confidently apply the refreshed skills in real-world situations.
Upon successful completion of the course, you will receive a renewed Level 3 First Aid at Work certificate, valid for another three years. This certification is fully recognised by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).
It’s important to distinguish between the annual refresher course and the First Aid at Work Requalification. The annual refresher is a short course designed to help you maintain your first aid skills throughout the year. While beneficial, it does not extend your certification.
In contrast, the 2-day FAW Refresher (Requalification) course is specifically designed to renew your First Aid at Work qualification for an additional three years. This is the only course that formally extends the validity of your FAW certification.
This 2-day FAW Refresher course is intended for designated first aiders working in environments with medium to high-risk factors, such as warehouses, factories, construction sites, and large offices. It’s aimed at individuals who need to keep their FAW qualification up to date and ensure they remain compliant with HSE regulations.
If you have multiple employees requiring the FAW requalification, organising on-site training could be a more efficient solution. A certified trainer can conduct the entire 2-day requalification course at your premises, enabling your team to refresh their skills together.
On-site training offers numerous advantages:
