In-house training: Host the course at your workplace for a group of employees.
The First Aid at Work (FAW) Refresher — sometimes called the FAW Requalification — is a focused 2-day course for qualified first aiders whose certificate is approaching expiry. When you complete the First Aid at Work Refresher in Coatbridge, you renew your Level 3 FAW qualification for a further three years.
Because you’ve already completed the full programme, this refresher is designed to bring your knowledge up to date and give you supervised time to practise the core techniques you may not use every day. It also helps you stay aligned with Health and Safety Executive (HSE) expectations for workplace first aid cover.
This 2-day requalification course is for learners who already hold a First Aid at Work certificate. To avoid having to start again, it’s best to book your refresher before your current FAW qualification runs out.
If your certificate has expired, you may still be able to renew within the 28-day grace period. Once you are beyond that, you’ll need to complete the full 3-day First Aid at Work course again.
Please bring evidence of your current or recently expired FAW certificate with you on day one, as proof of eligibility is required for requalification.
Across the two days in Coatbridge, you will revisit the full FAW syllabus to make sure your skills and decision-making remain sharp and your certification stays valid. Training includes practical assessment and hands-on refreshers for the situations workplace first aiders deal with most often.
The First Aid at Work Refresher in Coatbridge is assessed through practical skill demonstrations and ongoing trainer observation, followed by a short multiple-choice test. This approach checks that you can apply the techniques confidently and safely in real workplace situations.
Once you successfully complete the course, you’ll receive a renewed Level 3 First Aid at Work certificate. Your updated qualification is valid for a further three years and remains recognised in line with Health and Safety Executive (HSE) guidance.
Many first aiders hear “annual refresher” and assume it renews their certificate — but it doesn’t. An annual session is a short skills update that can help you stay confident during the year, especially if you rarely use first aid at work.
If your FAW certificate is due to expire, you’ll need the 2-day First Aid at Work Refresher (Requalification). This is the course that formally renews your qualification and extends your certificate for another three years.
This 2-day FAW Refresher is for existing workplace first aiders who need to renew their certificate to remain compliant. It suits staff working in medium- to higher-risk settings where first aid cover is essential, such as warehouses, manufacturing, construction, logistics, facilities teams, and larger office environments.
If you’re renewing several team members at once, on-site delivery can be the most practical option. An accredited trainer can run the full 2-day requalification course at your workplace, so your staff refresh their skills together without the disruption of travelling to a training venue.
On-site training can work well because:
The Coatbridge venue is set up to be easy to reach for learners who need to renew their FAW certificate with minimal disruption.
