The First Aid at Work (FAW) Refresher, also referred to as FAW Requalification, is a 2-day course designed for individuals whose FAW certification is nearing its expiration. By completing the First Aid at Work Refresher Course in West Sussex, you’ll be able to renew your Level 3 FAW qualification for an additional three years.
Unlike the full three-day course, this refresher focuses on reinforcing your knowledge while offering hands-on practice with key skills, all under the guidance of an experienced assessor. This ensures that you remain fully compliant with the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) regulations.
The First Aid at Work Refresher course in West Sussex is specifically for individuals who hold a current or recently expired FAW certificate. It’s recommended to book your place before your certificate expires to avoid having to retake the full 3-day First Aid at Work course.
If your certificate has expired for more than 28 days, you will be required to complete the full FAW course again.
On the first day of training, please bring proof of your current or recently expired FAW certificate to verify your eligibility.
The FAW Requalification course in West Sussex revisits the entire First Aid at Work syllabus, ensuring that your knowledge stays current and your certification remains valid. Throughout the 2-day course, you will practise the vital skills that are essential for any workplace first aider:
The First Aid at Work Refresher in West Sussex is assessed through a blend of practical demonstrations, trainer observation, and a short multiple-choice test. This ensures that learners can confidently apply the refreshed skills they've acquired during the course.
Upon successful completion, you will receive a renewed Level 3 First Aid at Work certificate, valid for another three years, and fully recognised by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).
The annual refresher course is often confused with the FAW Requalification. However, the annual refresher is a brief course designed to help you maintain your skills yearly, but it does not renew your certificate.
If your certificate is nearing its expiry, the 2-day FAW Refresher (Requalification) course is the only course that officially renews your qualification for a further three years.
This 2-day FAW Refresher course is intended for appointed first aiders working in medium- to high-risk environments, such as construction sites, warehouses, and large office settings. It’s tailored for individuals who need to keep their certification up to date and remain in compliance with HSE requirements.
If you have a team of employees who need to renew their FAW qualification, it might be more practical to arrange on-site training at your workplace. An accredited trainer can deliver the full 2-day requalification course directly at your premises, ensuring your team can update their skills in a familiar environment.
On-site training offers numerous benefits:
The West Sussex training venue is centrally located, providing easy access for first aiders who need to renew their FAW certification with minimal disruption. The venue is well-served by public transport, with nearby train and bus stations, and parking is available for those travelling by car.
Learners regularly attend from not just West Sussex itself, but from surrounding areas such as Crawley, Horsham, Worthing, Chichester, Haywards Heath, and Shoreham-by-Sea. Many local businesses prefer this venue for its accessibility, making it a convenient choice for staff training.
