The First Aid at Work (FAW) Refresher, also known as the FAW Requalification, is a two-day course designed for individuals whose FAW certificate is approaching its expiry. Completing this First Aid at Work Refresher Course in Stoke-on-Trent allows you to renew your Level 3 FAW qualification for an additional three years.
Unlike the comprehensive three-day programme, the refresher course focuses on revising critical knowledge and offers a hands-on opportunity to practice vital first aid skills with the guidance of an experienced assessor. This course ensures you remain compliant with Health and Safety Executive (HSE) regulations.
This 2-day First Aid at Work requalification course is available exclusively for individuals who currently hold a valid FAW certificate. It’s important to book your spot before your existing qualification expires to avoid the need to retake the full 3-day First Aid at Work programme.
A 28-day grace period is provided after the certificate has expired. If more than 28 days have passed, you will need to start from the beginning with the full FAW course.
To participate in the course, you must bring proof of your valid or recently expired FAW certificate on the first day of training.
When you enrol in the FAW Requalification course in Stoke-on-Trent, you will revisit the entire First Aid at Work syllabus to ensure your knowledge is current and your certification remains valid. Throughout the two days, you will have the chance to refresh and practice the critical skills that every workplace first aider must know.
The FAW Refresher course in Stoke-on-Trent is assessed through practical demonstrations, trainer evaluations, and a brief multiple-choice exam. This assessment ensures that you are capable of confidently applying the skills you have updated during the course.
Upon successful completion, you will be awarded a renewed Level 3 First Aid at Work certificate, valid for an additional three years, and fully accredited by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).
Many people confuse the annual refresher with the First Aid at Work Requalification. The annual refresher is a brief course designed to help you practise your skills once a year. While beneficial, it does not renew your certificate.
If your certificate is nearing expiration, you must complete the 2-day FAW Refresher (Requalification) course. This is the only course that officially renews your First Aid at Work certification for another three years.
This 2-day FAW Refresher course is intended for appointed first aiders in medium- to high-risk environments, such as manufacturing facilities, warehouses, construction sites, and large offices. It is designed for those who need to keep their qualification current and remain in compliance with HSE standards.
If you have multiple staff members requiring FAW requalification, organising on-site training at your workplace may be a more convenient option. A certified trainer can deliver the full 2-day course directly at your location, allowing your team to update their skills as a group.
On-site training comes with several advantages:
The Stoke-on-Trent training venue is centrally located, making it convenient for first aiders needing to renew their FAW certificate to attend the 2-day course with minimal disruption. The venue is easily accessible by public transport, with nearby train and bus links, and parking is available for those driving to the location.
Our learners come not just from Stoke-on-Trent, but also from surrounding areas, including Newcastle-under-Lyme, Kidsgrove, Hanley, Porthill, and Trentham. Many businesses from these areas choose our Stoke-on-Trent venue as a convenient location for their staff to complete the FAW Requalification.
