The First Aid at Work (FAW) Refresher, also referred to as FAW Requalification, is a 2-day course tailored for individuals whose FAW certification is nearing expiration. By completing this First Aid at Work Refresher Course in Aberdeen, you can extend your Level 3 FAW qualification for an additional three years.
Unlike the original 3-day FAW programme, the refresher is designed to enhance key knowledge and provide participants with an opportunity to practice essential first aid skills with the guidance of a qualified trainer. Completing this course will also ensure compliance with Health and Safety Executive (HSE) regulations.
The 2-day First Aid at Work Refresher course is open to individuals who currently hold a valid FAW certificate. To ensure you don't have to retake the full 3-day FAW course, it’s advisable to book your spot before your certification expires.
A 28-day grace period is provided after your certificate expires. If your certification has lapsed for more than 28 days, you will need to re-enrol in the full FAW course.
On the first day of training, you’ll need to bring a copy of your valid or recently expired FAW certificate for verification purposes.
During the FAW Requalification course in Aberdeen, you will review the complete First Aid at Work syllabus, ensuring your skills are up-to-date and your qualification remains valid. Over the course of two days, you’ll have the opportunity to refresh and practise key first aid skills essential for any workplace.
Throughout the First Aid at Work Refresher course in Aberdeen, you will be assessed through a blend of practical exercises, direct observation by the trainer, and a brief multiple-choice exam. This ensures you can confidently apply the refreshed skills in real-world emergency situations.
Upon successful completion, you will receive a renewed Level 3 First Aid at Work certificate. This certificate is valid for three years and fully recognised by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).
Many people confuse the annual refresher with the FAW Requalification. The annual refresher is a shorter session aimed at helping you practice and keep your skills sharp each year, but it does not extend the validity of your certificate.
If your FAW certificate is nearing its expiration date, you will need to complete the 2-day FAW Refresher (Requalification) course. This is the only course that formally renews your First Aid at Work qualification for an additional three years.
The 2-day FAW Refresher course is perfect for individuals working in medium to high-risk environments who need to renew their First Aid at Work certification. This includes professionals in sectors such as construction, warehousing, manufacturing, and large office settings. The course is aimed at first aiders responsible for maintaining workplace safety and adhering to Health and Safety Executive (HSE) regulations.
If your business has multiple employees who need to renew their FAW qualifications, organising an on-site training session can be a more efficient solution. An accredited trainer will visit your workplace and deliver the full 2-day requalification course, allowing your team to refresh their skills together in a familiar setting.
