FreeThe Forklift Theory Mock Test is a practice test that includes multiple-choice questions, following the same format as the test you must pass to earn a recognised certificate. This mock test includes questions about the laws, procedures, and methods for safely and effectively operating machinery.
Forklift Theory Test
The forklift theory test is designed specifically for forklift operators who want to apply for the CPCS card and gain national recognition for their skills. To achieve this, they need to pass the CITB Health, Safety, and Environment test, a forklift theory test, and a practical test in addition to the Level 2 NVQ. Doing all of it will make you an eligible candidate for the CPCS Blue Card.
The forklift theory test assesses your machinery operation skills. Since forklifts are widely used in many UK businesses, complying with legal regulations is essential to ensure the safety of yourself and others on-site. Your competency will also be evaluated practically. This means that to work towards obtaining the CPCS Blue Card as a forklift operator, you should ideally have one or two years of industry experience in the same role.
On this page, we'll provide information about the time it takes to start from scratch and earn your CPCS card, the required courses, the necessary tests, and more.
The Forklift theory test includes questions that assess your ability to identify machine characteristics for lifting and moving objects, securing and balancing loads, lifting and unloading loads, ensuring load stability, and using hand tools, among other things.
The test results will be displayed at the end, and you will have a list of questions and answers, all that you got correct or wrong. This way, you can spot areas you still need to work on. We suggest giving these mock tests multiple tries until you’re sure what to expect in the actual test.
The CPCS Forklift theory test lasts one hour and consists of 25 questions. Out of these, 20 are multiple-choice questions where you choose the correct answer from the options displayed on the screen. The remaining 5 questions provide a blank space to write your answers.
To pass the CPCS Forklift theory test, you must achieve a score of 80%, meaning you must answer at least 20 questions correctly on the theoretical exam.
Although the likelihood of failing the test is minimal, as commonly believed, it's still important to invest time and effort in preparing for it. The forklift theory mock test serves as an excellent example because you can attempt it as many times as needed until you are confident and fully ready to book the test.
This Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Plant Operations is a recognised qualification with 11 specialised pathways. Each pathway is designed for people with different skill sets. One of these specialised areas focuses on transporting loads, which goes well with your experience.
To enrol on this course, simply reach out to our team, and we'll get in touch with you. After some standard checks, we'll assign you a personal assessor to assess whether this NVQ is the right fit for you. If it is, they'll collaborate with you to create a personalised assessment plan. You must already be employed to join this qualification since it involves submitting practical evidence. There are a few checks that assessors will complete before guiding you further in this direction.
In addition to the lifting pathway, there are other pathways available for you to explore. You can also recommend them to your colleagues, helping them gain a recognised qualification and work towards getting a CPCS Blue Card.
The process can sometimes be quicker if you've already passed the required tests. However, this guide is primarily focused on helping you understand it right from the beginning.
1. To start, you need to obtain a recognised certificate. We offer the NVQ from ProQual, which is approved as an awarding body for Plant Operations. An assessor will assist you in choosing the right pathway to follow.
The prices for NVQ training to become a certified forklift operator can vary depending on the training provider you select. Here at Hurak, our Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Plant Operations is priced at 579 pounds, which is the best deal you'll find in the market.
We also provide an extra service where we can apply for the CITB test on your behalf, and we charge only a small additional fee on top of the standard cost.
