This course is particularly well-suited for those who work in high-risk workplaces (such as construction, manufacturing, and warehouses) where a certified first responder is not mandated by the first aid needs assessment. But it is considered best practise for all employees to have advance knowledge of first aid, especially those responsible for first aid arrangements, and this course fulfils that requirement. Even though it is not a legal requirement to have a fully trained First Aider, a person should be appointed to take charge of the first-aid arrangements. Depending on the workplace, a risk assessment should be conducted to determine the likelihood of First-Aid emergencies. For high-risk environments, it is recommended to have 1 First Aider for every 50 employees. If there is a change in ergonomics, the risk assessment should be updated.
