Candidate’s enrolment onto a qualification starts with payments (either partial of full) being made and a registration form submission. The enrolment process involved the immediate registration of candidate onto the qualification with the awarding body, setting up the candidate’s e-portfolio, allocation of an assessor, candidate’s induction etc. most of which incurs a considerable cost, requires the use of organisational resources, manpower and acquired skills and cannot be undone.

For these reasons:

  1. All candidates are entitled to a full refund if requested before the commencement of the registration process.
  2. There is strictly no refund for any candidate on a payment plan after the candidate registration and enrolment process had been completed.
  3. For candidates who had made full payments, a refund may be accessible provided this is requested before the start of the assessment process.
  4. No candidate is entitled to a refund once the assessment process is started unless it can be established that SBC or the assigned assessor is unable to carry on with the delivery of the qualification as expected or as agreed..

Refunds for entitled candidates would be calculated by deducting the cost of registration and enrolment of the candidate as well as the cost of administering the assessment to its current stage (including the fees for the assessor input and IQA fees for assessment and organisational document used) from the total payment made by the candidate towards the qualification.

Qualification time extension

NVQ portfolios have a limited time for the learner to complete their qualifications. The qualification awarding organisations has time limits within which they expect assessments to be completed. In the same vein, assessment evidences has time elements within which they can be regarded as being current. Therefore candidates wishing to take breaks during their qualification assessment should be mindful of the time limits for their qualifications.

If qualification time limit is exceeded, we may charge an extension fee for the learner to continue their NVQ.
