Available as of 1st October 2024, the new two-day SIA Door Supervisor Refresher course will be necessary for renewing your SIA licence. It becomes mandatory for all licence holders by 1st April 2025.
The top-up refresher training helps door supervisors update their skills in essential safety areas and provides current information on spiking and terror threat awareness. This course replaces the previous Top-Up Door Supervisor course.

If you have completed the six-day Door Supervisor course or the older top-up training within the last three years and need to renew your SIA door supervisor licence, you are required to take the new SIA Top-Up Refresher Training for Door Supervisors.
Even with extensive experience in the security field, the Door Supervisor Top-Up Refresher Training ensures your knowledge remains current with the latest security practices and emerging issues.
Furthermore, this training is a mandatory requirement set by the SIA, and you will not be able to renew your SIA license without completing it.
To be eligible for the Door Supervisor Top-Up Refresher Training, you must have held an SIA licence within the last 3 years and have sufficient English skills in reading, writing, speaking, and listening.
Before attending the SIA Top-Up Refresher Training for Door Supervision, it is mandatory to have completed and passed an Emergency First Aid qualification. If you already hold an Emergency First Aid certificate, ensure it is valid for a minimum of 12 months from the start date of your course.
