Effective from October 2021, the Security Industry Authority (SIA) has made First Aid training mandatory for individuals working in the security industry. As part of the SIA Top-Up Door Supervisor Upskilling course, if you do not possess a valid First Aid certification, the training provider will include a First Aid component to ensure compliance. This additional training will provide you with Level 3 Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) certification, which covers essential first aid skills and knowledge required in the workplace. The First Aid training will encompass topics such as CPR, managing incidents, dealing with unconscious casualties, wound care, and more. Successful completion of the course will fulfill the SIA requirement for First Aid training, enabling you to renew your Door Supervisor license and continue working in the security industry.
At the end of the course, you will be assessed by practical demonstrations, questions and answers, and will undertake 3 multiple choice exams exams
The passing marks are 70% for the first 2 exams and 80% for the last exam.

According to SIA regulations, from October 2021, anyone who wants to renew their SIA Door supervisor license must complete the top-up training to renew their Door Supervisor licence.
If you are taking Door Supervision or Security Officer training, you will need to show that you hold a current and valid First Aid at Work or Emergency First Aid at Work certificate that meets the requirements of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981. It is an SIA requirement that each learner is sufficiently qualified in First Aid or Emergency First Aid. This certificate must be valid for at least 12 months from the security course start date. If you don’t have a First Aid course you can book this with us.
Yes, there is mandatory pre-course work to be completed before you attend your training. Full details are provided in your booking confirmation email when you book the course. In particular, you must complete the ACT Awareness and ACT Security e-learning courses and provide certificates for these before you attend your training.
